The course walk will take place prior to the $75,000 Fidelity Investments Grand Prix on Sunday, September 9, 2007 on the Coldwell Banker Previews Grand Prix Field. Winner Ann Marie Demers was chosen out of 1,500 participants who purchased online tickets to the 2007 Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic. She is excited and looking forward to meeting national show jumper and trainer Darren Graziano of Brewster, New York, who rode Allure to circuit champion in the 1.35 Division at Wellington, FL this season. Now a member of the Jumper Classic Board of Directors, Graziano has accumulated many ribbons at the Jumper Classic since its inception, including a second place in the 2002 Grand Prix riding Kinetic. In 2005, he won the $5,000 Herb Chambers' Mercedes-Benz Speed Stake and was USEF Champion at Level 6 with Allure. He was also USEF champion at Level 7 with Presioso. Last year he was 2nd in young jumpers, Level 6, aboard Westinwind, and again 2nd in Level 7 with Zorro's Precision MBA and 3rd in the $7,500 Mohegan Sun Speed Stake. Graziano, owner of D.G. Ventures, also trains several amateur riders who will be competing at the show. One of the nation's top show jumping professionals, Darren has competed at all the major shows on the east coast of the United States and Canada since the 1980s. He won the Northeast Regional Maclay Finals in 1989 and captured both the team and the individual gold medal at the North American Young Rider Championships in 1990. He continued his successful career with many Grand Prix placings at the HITS horse show series and a win in the $60,000 World Cup Qualifier in Quebec aboard Kinetic. Graziano will personally escort Demers on the course as he discusses his approach to riding the Richard Jeffery-designed course at this year's Jumper Classic. "This is a technically exciting course on a grass field, which gives the horses and riders a different look and feel from shows where there are multiple rings and sand footing," he says.
The big winners over the course of the four days were riders Darren Graziano aboard Allure and Presioso, Donald Little aboard Mr. Nighttime and Kristina Lyons aboard Crack Z. Darren won the USEF Championship for both Level 6 and Level 7; Donald, who is the founder of the Jumper Classic some sixteen years ago, won the USEF Reserve Championship for the Senior Division sponsored by The World; and Kristina won for the Junior/Amateur Owner High Division. In the Equestrian world, the name Darren Graziano is synonymous with respect and adoration. And after his performance at this year's Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic, his reputation carries on.Darren Graziano was big winner this week, winning the United States Equestrian Federation Championship title for two Divisions and the Herb Chambers' Mercedes-Benz Speed Stake aboard Allure. The Speed Stake is where the scoring is based solely on time, in that they convert faults to time, so for every rail knocked down, 4 seconds is added to their total time and the horse and rider with the fastest time wins. Darren's horse Allure is a 7 year old Mare owned by Carol and Andrew Clarkson of New Canaan, CT. "I think we found a happy match with Darren and Allure, he really knows how to ride her," said Carol Clarkson as she was clutching the trophy plate which was hand-painted by Artist, Lydia Taylor.Darren acquired the horse about 4 months ago, "Allure has been a work-in-progress.She has continued to grow in her education and with the dynamics of the field, footing, venue and jumps here (at the Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic); she has certainly risen to the occasion, especially since this type of show is really meant for the apex of her learning curve. The Speed Stake was created just for her.Allure is a fast horse and I knew she was going to just rip and tear in that competition.I'm so proud of all my horses and my entire team," said Darren Graziano, Equestrian and Owner of DG Venture, Inc. Most who know Darren see him as the handsome young man whose kindness and charm supersede his raw talent. His passion for horses comes through so brilliantly when you first meet him.Not only does he have a colorful jumping career himself, but also an extremely successful business where he guides, teaches, trains and inspires young riders and horses to harness their hidden talents and achieve their ultimate potential."These wins are wonderful for my business, my name gets out there and it adds one more notch in our credibility belt for DG Venture, Inc.I feel very lucky," said Darren Graziano.
