DANTE L. ZARLENGO earned a B.A. in 1969 and a J.D. in 1972 from the University of Denver.He was a member of the Denver Law Journal.On graduation, he was appointed Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado.In 1975, Mr. Zarlengo joined Phillips Petroleum Company.He has been in private law practice in Denver, Colorado, since 1976.He is now a partner in the law firm of Zarlengo & Kimmell, LLC.Mr. Zarlengo is a member of the Denver and American Bar Associations, and has served on the Board of Governors, the Executive Council and the Nominating Committee of the Colorado Bar Association.He is Chair of the Mineral Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association.Mr. Zarlengo is a member of the legislative task force formed to participate in drafting revisions to the Colorado Royalty Payment Act.Mr. Zarlengo has authored: "Royalties," Law of Federal Oil and Gas Leases (2d. ed.); "Areas of Mutual Interest Regarding Oil and Gas Properties; Analysis, Drafting and Procedure," 28 Rocky Mt. Denver oil and gas attorney Dante Zarlengo said an early agreement could allow for a compromise that would at least partially satisfy both royalty owners and producers.

The makeup of the task force has changed several times since it was first announced.It now includes four legislators, an agricultural producer, a royalty owner, an oil and gas producer, a member of the state Board of Land Commissioners and a county commissioner from an oil and gas-producing county.
