Mitas, P.E. is Named Vice President of Technology and Development - In his new position, Dan is responsible for Advanced Engineering and Project Development, as well as Air Quality Control services.He joined C&B as Director of Air Quality Projects in 2004 and has over twenty-four years of experience addressing a broad range of combustion and air quality control technologies applications to power generation facilities.He has served as project manager and engineering manager on several large retrofit and upgrade projects on fossil-fueled power plants, and has extensive mechanical and chemical engineering experience.
Over the course of his
has worked on projects involving utilization of waste fuels, fuel quality impact evaluations, pulverized coal and circulating fluidized bed boilers, air quality control design, equipment and systems performance, conceptual and detailed engineering, emissions compliance planning and permitting, engineering economics, and computer software development.His
technical experience includes the application of a variety of air quality control technologies on utility- and industrial-scale facilities including wet and dry flue gas desulfurization, selective catalytic and non-catalytic reduction, fabric filtration, electrostatic precipitation, mercury control, and combustion waste handling and disposal.He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and is a registered professional engineer.
