Daniel O. Mérida
Daniel O. Mérida has been Executive Director of Sheldon Oak Central, Inc. since 1989.
With a staff of only four, he
has led the non-profit housing development organization in the building or rehabilitation of over 700 housing units in the City of Hartford, including the Rice Heights neighborhood of 44 single family homes and the 269-unit SANA Apartments.
Under Mr. Mérida's
direction, Sheldon Oak Central
recently completed the major renovation of 4-40 Vine St
. (formerly Horace Bushnell Apartments), a historically significant block of 9 buildings into 74 units of safe and decent mixed-income housing.
Mr. Mérida has served on the boards of directors of many community organizations, including the Center for Creative Youth at Wesleyan University, the Boyd and Wendy Hinds Fund, the Greater Hartford Arts Council, and Capital Community College Foundation.
Mr. Mérida has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University
