In 2000, Daniel was hired into the Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies Group in the Equities Division (formerly Risk Arbitrage Department) as an investor in the firm's North American investing business.
In 2008, Daniel and a team of investors in Principal Strategies launched Goldman Sachs Investment Partners, the Asset Management Division's flagship long/short hedge fund.
He began his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division covering the Natural Resources sector.
Daniel graduated from McGill University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Commerce.
