Carmichael Gallery is pleased to present RUSH, a group exhibition featuring works by Los Angeles-based artists Daniel DeSure, Marc Horowitz and Lisa Solberg and Brooklyn-based artist Greg Allen-Müller. After all, explains DeSure, whether in art or life, it's all about "the breakdown...it's all an experiment." Daniel DeSure Daniel DeSure was born in 1982. After studying experimental film and video at the California Institute of Arts (CalArts), he began producing films and art installations for artists, galleries and museums around the world. In 2006, he produced Sleepwalkers by Doug Aitken for the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The following year, he founded Commonwealth Projects, an art production and design studio specializing in large-scale installations, experiential design, publications and events. Daniel currently lives and works in Los Angeles.

This group exhibition will feature a selection of works from artists Rob Brander, Kyle De Lotto, Daniel Desure, Gregor Gaida, Simon Haas, Maya Lujan and Lisa Solberg, whose practices span a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, photography, mixed media, wood and light, and who together explore the ongoing dialogue, contrast and communion between the abstract and figurative elements in contemporary art. There will be an opening reception for Now Not Never on Saturday, September 10 with Rob Brander, Kyle De Lotto, Daniel Desure, Simon Haas, Maya Lujan and Lisa Solberg in attendance. Daniel Desure Daniel DeSure has worked as a visual artist and art producer in Los Angeles for the past 5 years. He earned his undergraduate degree at the California Institute of Arts in 2000, studying experimental film and video.
