Dana Heinze - Head Equipment Manager
Dana Heinze is in the midst of his eighth season as the Penguins head equipment manager after spending six years as assistant equipment manager for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Heinze, a native of Johnstown, Pa., joined the Lightning in the 2000-01 season after serving as head equipment manager for the defunct International Hockey League (IHL) Detroit Vipers.
The 46-year-old manager is a two-time Stanley Cup winner (2008-09 Pittsburgh Penguins; 2003-04 Tampa Bay Lightning).
Last season, Heinze
1,600th professional game at Tampa Bay on April 11, 2013.
supervises and assists with all duties related to player equipment.
Heinze served as the head trainer for his hometown Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL) on two separate occasions (1988-92, 1995-98).
also spent one season as equipment manager for the New Jersey Devils in 1992-93 under former Penguins'
head coach Herb Brooks.
Heinze attended Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY.
wife Kathy reside in Pittsburgh.
