Pennington would finish second with Dewayne Johnson, Dana Eiland and Johnny Collins, who had to take a provisional and start in a backup car due to an incident in the second B main, rounding out the top five. Qualifying in third spot in the familiar black K9 Car was Richie Stephens, that's not a misprint; Dana Eiland's car was on loan to Stephens for the night's event. Good news for car owner Dana Eiland as the car wasn't damaged, however, something in the wheel broke ending Stephens chance at victory. When the green flag waved for the 20 lap main event Dana Eiland taking to the high line quickly took the lead with Dudley falling in line in second. On the restart Dana Eiland began to pull away from Dudley who was busy holding off the advances of Randy Hester. Eiland would restart as the leader and Dudley was sent to the rear of the field for the contact. Eiland taking charge of the race started to pull away from new second place runner Hester, who would hold the position for one lap before pulling into the pits for mechanical problems. Terrance Nowell inheriting second was trying to catch Dana Eiland and hold off last weeks winner Scott Knowles. Nowell went low under Scarbrough while Eiland went high. Unfortunately for Eiland Scarbrough washed up in front of Eiland. The nose of Eiland's car got hung behind the rear of Scarbrough's car. The pair hung together with Eiland pushing Scarbrough down the back straight hung together. That was all Nowell needed to make the pass and he would take the checkered flag in dramatic fashion. Eiland still hung up behind Scarbrough tried to break free in turns three and four which resulted in the pair spinning and the field of cars passing them by. When the green flag fell for the main event, Pennington grabbed the lead followed by Knowles, Dana Eiland of Salem, AL, Larry Eldridge of Columbus, GA, and Washington. Dana Eiland looking stronger than ever posted the second fastest time with a lap of 15.55 seconds with Scott Knowles timing in third. Eiland followed in second with Knowles third and Pat Wall riding in forth. Once aging the green was waving and Harrod and Eiland started to pull away. Then on lap 18 Edge completed the pass on the high side of turn two and set his sights on the two front running cars of Harrod and Eiland. Every lap since lap 15 Eiland would dive to the inside of Harrod in three and four but just couldn't pull off the pass. Down low in three and four the same and coming to the checkers it was Harrod holding off Eiland for an impressive win. Dana Eiland finished second with Chase Edge coming home in third. Thomas Lewis and Chris Arnett made up your front row for the feature with Eiland and Steven Gaines Jr. in row number two. Eiland wasted no time getting around Lewis to take the lead on lap one. Dana Eiland in his familiar K9 machine wowed the crowd by laying down a blistering lap in Extreme Power Sports Pole Qualifying knocking then pole sitter Richie Stephens to second. When the green was finally displayed on the third attempt it was Dana Eiland leading them into turn one. Richie Stephens immediately dove to the inside of Eiland making contact with the side of his car and pushing Dana into the higher groove. Eiland, being the seasoned veteran that he is, took it in stride and powered back by Stephens coming out of turn two to complete the first lap. With Stephens in the pits it was an Eiland and Eiland restart Dana leading the way with Bobby behind him inheriting the second spot. With the green out and just four laps remaining Bobby Eiland just couldn't do it and Dana Eiland held on to win. Pennington seemed content to ride in Stephens tire tracks as the duo began to pull away from third place running Dana Eiland. Eiland in a fierce battle for third with Terrance Nowell and Larry Harrod looked to be laying back to save his tires. With Evilsizer rejoining the field at the back, the green was displayed and Stephens and Pennington again started to put distance between them and Dana Eiland. In Extreme Power Sports pole qualifying it was Larry Harrod setting the fast time with a lap of 15:73 seconds with Dana Eiland timing in second fastest. When the green waved Harrod jumped out front with Stephens making quick work of Eiland to take over the second position. Eiland was still holding on to the third position but Knowles was able to work his way past Wall for fourth. With Stephens losing time off two Scott Knowles made a power move quickly passing Eiland for third and Stephens for second. Pat Wall also made it past Eiland to take over the forth position. Then on lap 10 the caution would wave again as Dana Eiland spun off of turn 4 trying to pass Stodghill for the fifth position. Eiland would pull into the pits and not return ending his night early. Harrod started on the pole with Dana Eiland to his outside in second. Unfortunately Eiland could not get enough of a run to pass Harrod. Dana Eiland was second with Terrance Nowell third, Scott Knowles forth, and Rodgerick Dykes holding off a hard charging Matt Woodson to take home fifth. Harrod held Eiland off and led every lap to pick up the win ahead of Dana Eiland, Rodgerick Dykes, Pat Wall and Chase Edge. When the green flag dropped Stephens and Eiland raced into turn one and Stephens emerged with the lead and began to run away from the pack. Eiland had a strong push in turns one and two and lost momentum as Larry Eldridge slid under him to take over the second position. On the restart of the lap 7 caution, Harrod made a swift and clean pass on Mills and went after Eiland in third. When the green came back Dana Eiland was running very high on the track and Eldridge was running the apron. Suddenly, Eiland switched grooves and caught Eldridge off guard and took over second place. Eiland picked up nearly a second on the apron and was there for the lead. Eiland and Stephens swapped positions, which had the fans on their feet to see these lead changes. Finally Eiland got a jump in momentum and pulled to a five car-length lead from Stephens. Rocketman and Eiland seemed to be in a higher class as they immediately began leaving the rest of the field in their dust. Rocketman and Eiland were in lap traffic as they put Greg Gatlin and Pat Wall down a lap. The running order was Nowell, Stephens, Harrod, Dana Eiland, and driving the Ben Thomas Racing house car was Fast Track National Champion William Thomas in fifth. With the Assassin on the high side and Rocketman in his shadow, Harrod and Eiland moved up there also. Eiland on the high side took third but the Rocketman came back from the inside and had the fans on their feet cheering. On the outside was Jay Johnson from Moultrie, GA and in the second row was Fastrak National Champion William Thomas and our local late model legend Dana Eiland on the outside. Johnson went high in turn one and dropped three spots to Whitener, Eiland and Thomas, who blasted by on the inside. Eiland could run him down but only wait for the opportunity or luck, to make a pass. Eiland was as fast as Whitener but needed that element of chance to pass. When the green came back Whitener and Eiland chose the high groove and Collins and Keith Nosbisch, running third and fourth, took the middle groove. Dana Eiland finished in second, which is ahead of the other 43 teams who showed up for the event. At the same time Dana Eiland from third was looking for a way to pass them both and the excitement was on. Eiland put the whip to his K-9 and ran down Meadows. On lap five "The Master of Faster" Dana Eiland took the lead to the seemingly endless delight of his many fans. The emotional rollercoaster that went so high had to come back down and suddenly a gremlin attacked the K-9 and Eiland's right front hub came loose and he was carried by momentum off the top of turn two for a yellow flag. He was towed to the pits and while it was on the hook his expert crew quickly fixed it and sent him back to the race, at the rear, for the restart. Dana Eiland was on a run passing Dudley to move into seventh place. Dana Eiland moved inside Eldridge and they battled door to door at the same time Bobby Eiland moved inside Harrod and it was difficult to keep up with all the excitement. Green was displayed and the excitement was on as our track champ Larry Harrod was knocking on Dana Eiland's door for third place. Eiland stayed in the upper groove and was able to outrun him down the straights and maintain the third position. Dana Eiland provided a scare to his many fans as he went off the backstretch coming out of turn two. Eiland's # K-9 suddenly came up lame, something like a broken ball joint, and Knowles and Aldridge went by. Eiland and Head both entered the pits for unfortunate DNFs. Racing back to the checkers Dana Eiland was doing all he could to make the bottom line work to his advantage and pass Harrod.
