When Dan opened his business in Ambler, he wanted to become a contributing member of the community.
approached local banker John Shoemaker and inquired about joining Rotary
Interestingly enough, Mr. Shoemaker told Dan
that "he hadn't been in business long enough" and that his membership in Rotary
"would have to wait."
Dan was President of the Club during its 50 th anniversary celebration in 1975.
In 2003 Dan was asked to become a Trustee of the club.
Until then a trustee was a largely honorary role.
Dan proved to be a valuable resource for the Board of Directors and the Trustee role has developed to become one of wise counsel to the directors.
is a major donor to the Rotary Foundation
Dan has been active at the District level as a member of the Camp Neiding committee for over 30 years, where he serves as the treasurer.
has attended many District Conferences and several R.I. Conventions.

Dan joined the Board of Directors of the Ambler Savings and Loan Association in 1972.
was named Chairman of the Board in 1988 when he
replaced the aforementioned John Shoemaker.
