Dan Blesi, CEO/General Manager, addressed the commission back in March on the project.
provided an overview of the current facilities at the location in Bourbon, and said that repairs, upgrades and new facilities would be needed.
Included in the development would be changes to Davidson Rd., which runs near Crawford Electric.
Last Tuesday, Blesi and Dick Ramstein of Accurate Engineering and Survey provided residents information on the proposed relocation.
Blesi said that Crawford Electric and its board of directors are committed to constructing Davidson Rd. to meet the commission's road specifications, and that all expenses associated with the relocation would be paid for by the company and not the county.
According to Blesi
, Crawford Electric will need more space and facilities to achieve its strategic plan for growth.
The plans are the development of new offices, garages and warehouses.
The county, said Blesi
, would only be responsible for maintenance on the proposed road.
Charles Jackson asked if Crawford Electric would be using the proposed road, but Blesi
said, if changes are made, the company will not have access to Davidson Rd. on the west side of Crawford Electric.
said that, most likely, the access will be replaced with a ditch, no longer enabling trucks to access the road on the west side of the facility.
said, to meet MoDOT specs, Davidson would be merged into a portion of Erni to make a safe curve.
