Professor Dallas English is a Professor in the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and also holds a research position at the Cancer Council Victoria. He is Co-Chief Investigator on Ten to Men, as well as being a co-Investigator on another cohort study, the Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study.
Dallas is a cancer epidemiologist and has published extensively on the links between cancer and lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity. His research on the links between obesity and cancer in the MCCS led to the Cancer Council initiating a major public health campaign on obesity. He is involved in a number of trials evaluating public health interventions, including cervical cancer screening, shade provision in parks and vitamin D supplementation. His other main research interest is in evaluating cancer-screening programs.
