David Jeffrey Sligh
Minister of Music
Born in West Chester County, New York, Mr. D. Jeffery Sligh is currently a resident of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina receiving a Bachelor of Music Education Degree with a Performance Certification.
He completed his graduate studies in Music Education at Winthrop University and received his Paralegal Certification from the National Academy for Paralegal Studies.
Mr. Sligh has been employed by United States Congressman John M. Spratt for the last 22 years as Congressional Liaison and Senior Immigration Specialist.
Mr. Sligh also serves the community as Professor of Music at Clinton Junior College where he teaches Music Appreciation, Hymnology and is Director of Choral Activities.
In 1998, for his work at Clinton, he was named Teacher of the Year by the Rock Hill Chamber of Commerce.
He is also the founder and present director of the Rock Hill Ecumenical Chorale.
Mr. Sligh currently serves as board member for the Catawba Community Mental Health Foundation; Boys & Girls Club of America; Rock Hill Tax & Tourism Commission, Subcommittee on Arts and Entertainment; Chairman, Rock Hill Arts Council Small Grant Committee; Rock Hill Cultural City Theme Group; City of Rock Hill Gallery Committee; and is a Past Executive Board Member for the Arts Council of Rock Hill & York County and is a past recipient of the Ben Audrey Volunteer Service Award.
