OCHS President, Dr. Cynthia Booth Ricciardi, makes a study of the permanent and transitory nature of communication from the days of quill and ink to today.
She reaches into the OCHS archives to share examples of significant and succinct communications from past Tauntonians. A special emphasis on deltiology, the study of postcards, is included. (approximately 45 minutes) All Roads Lead to Taunton, Part 1: Furniture This illustrated talk was inspired by Dr. Ricciardi's visit to Winterthur Museum in 2009 for the exhibit preview of "Harbor and Home: Furniture of Southeastern Massachusetts, 1710-1850.
