OCHS President, Dr. Cynthia Booth Ricciardi, makes a study of the permanent and transitory nature of communication from the days of quill and ink to today. She reaches into the OCHS archives to share examples of significant and succinct communications from past Tauntonians. A special emphasis on deltiology, the study of postcards, is included. Dr. Cynthia Booth Ricciardi, president of the Old Colony Historical Society, will present "The Other Side of the Postcard and Other Short Messages from the Past" on Thursday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Historical Hall, 66 Church Green in Taunton. The talk is free and open to the public, with light refreshments to follow.
Ricciardi, a doctor of literature, will examine the permanent and transitory nature of communication through the ages. Her illustrated talk will take us from the days of quill and ink to today's smart phones and more. She will reach into the Society's archives to share examples of succinct communications from past Tauntonians.

The Old Colony Historical Society (OCHS) will be presenting an illustrated talk, "Rivers, Landing Places and Home Lots: Genealogy and Geography," on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Historical Hall on 66 Church Green.
The talk is free and open to the public, with light refreshments to follow, and no reservations are necessary.
