Cynthia K. Hansen is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in various settings such as schools, clinics, hospitals, day treatment programs, and outpatient private practice.
She has taught nationally and internationally on Solution Focused Therapy, consulting with clinicians and organizations about best practices. Dr. Hansen is also a Disaster Mental Health responder with the American Red Cross and worked in New York City in September/October 2001 at Respite Center 1/Ground Zero, using her expertise in working with first responders and trauma survivors. Dr. Hansen's most recent assignment with the American Red Cross was in Guam after the super typhoon Pongsona, where she was able to contribute expertise in organizational responses post-disaster, intercultural applications, and direct clinical work with traumatized individuals and families. Dr. Hansen is an adjunct faculty member of American University in Washington, D.C., School of International Service.
