Mr. Bowers is the founder and director of Seeds for Change, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating world hunger through supporting subsistence farming in Africa.

The Institute of Scientific Meditation was founded by Mr. Bowers to raise the awareness of the local and global communities of the benefits of the practice of meditation through private instruction, classes, lectures, and workshops, and to educate the next generation of meditation instructors in the principles and practice of Scientific Meditation.
