Craig Hosbach Winemaker, Tug Hill Vineyards Craig began his career in winemaking by chance in 2004, while working at a local winery in New Jersey, near where he grew up. After apprenticing for a year he was named head winemaker where he concentrated on the production of French American hybrids and Minnesota hybrids such as Frontenac and Marquette. Since 2008 Craig has been honing his skills as a winemaker in northern New York. In 2010, Craig began his own winemaking consulting business, Bach Cellars, to help others grow in the winemaking field. He is currently the winemaker at Tug Hill Vineyards where he concentrates primarily on Estate grown grapes from the University of Minnesota's grape breeding program. As an ambassador of cold hardy varieties, Craig believes that they posses the ability to produce wines very similar to some of their traditional counterparts and welcomes the challenge of promoting their potential.
