F. and A.M., Scottish Rites and was an Oasis Shriner.He was the owner of the oldest independent real estate and auction company in Lincoln County, former owner of Old Lake Norman Music Hall, Lake Norman Ole Time Fiddlers Convention and Craig's Place.Mr. Gates was past president of Lincoln County Board of Realtors, Lincoln County Shriner Club and the Lincoln County Home Builders Association.He served in the Army in Korea.
