In addition to his work at the high school level, Dyer officiated basketball games in both the Ohio Valley Conference and the Southeastern Conference.Married to the former Beatrice Meritt of Chattanooga, Dyer lived in Chattanooga and ran his own business - Cooper Dyer Furniture Store.At the age of 86 and still a registered official, Dyer died in 1991
