Constadino (Gus) Sirakis, PE, M.ASCE Director of Engineering, Technical Affairs Division New York City Department of Buildings

Constadino "Gus" Sirakis joined the New York City Department of Buildings in August 2006 as Project Engineer, and helped draft the New New York City Construction Codes. Mr. Sirakis has 12 years of engineering experience in designing and rehabilitating building structures. In early 2008 Mr. Sirakis was appointed Deputy Director of the Office of Technical Certification and Research (OTCR), where he was responsible for implementing and administering new provisions derived from the new NYC Construction Codes updated in 2008. Since April 2009, Mr. Sirakis has been the Director of Engineering for the Technical Affairs Division, where he continues to work on building code initiatives. Prior to joining the Department of Buildings, Mr. Sirakis worked for nine years as a structural engineer and project manager for an architectural and engineering consulting firm.
Mr. Sirakis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY.
