Robrahn and Zeeland West Building Administrator Colleen Johnson said they feel athletics will ultimately help the schools form unique identities.

Students who attend Cityside Middle School
will go to Zeeland East
, while students who go to Creekside will attend Zeeland West.
said, academically, the schools will be the same.
"They have to mirror each other," Johnson
, Robrahn and other administrators have been meeting weekly to work out the transition, and said they plan to continue doing so even after the split.
Among them, Johnson
said, are performing arts, advanced placement and technical classes.
said that when school district voters endorsed the two high school concept in 1999, the district made a commitment to have any class that started together, stay together until graduation. Johnson
and Robrahn agreed that the transition has always put students first.
