Hornell Intermediate School Principal Colleen Argentieri was charged with two class D felonies by Hornell police Wednesday, the day after she was placed on paid leave by the school district for an investigation of forged instruments.
Argentieri, 45, of 273 Canisteo St., Hornell, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and arraigned in front of Hornell City Court Judge David Shults before being released on her own recognizance.
Argentieri is a Hornell High School graduate and joined the school system as a teacher in 1985.
She was named a principal in 1999.
