This was the third consecutive sanctioned match and 1st Texas State IDPA match hosted by Collin County IDPA (CCIDPA) and run by Match Director and CCIDPA President Cody Ray (A03452).He gave his vision for the match in the shooter's briefing: "We're here to have fun, be safe, and follow all the IDPA rules; especially cover." Late that day, I asked Cody if he felt lucky about the weather, and he answered, "I think we've dodged a bullet."As Cody said, "On the positive side, this mud sure beats the 105+ degree heat at last year's North Texas Regional Match."As Cody said, "We had shooters from eleven states, the District of Columbia, and two foreign countries: Italy and California."Lest you think we are biased, here are just a few of the responses that Cody received in the days after the match. They tell the story:"Hey Cody, I hope you are getting rested up from the Match.Ray, Bill, and I were pooped out Saturday but we decided today that if it was coming up this weekend, we'd shoot!"-Ron T.

We don't install sprinkler systems but we know one of the best installers in town and that's Cody Ray of Delta Irrigation.
His pricing is fair but more importantly we don't repair his systems because they are installed right from the start.

Besides a top-flight staff, and Comp-Tac's air-conditioned tent, the Texas championship also boasted IDPA dignitaries Bill and Joyce Wilson, who stopped by to see Cody, C.J., and the rest of Collin County IDPA put on a flawless match.
The Championship, featuring 12 stages and a 201 minimum round count, will be a match that, "Marksmen can finish and Masters will love", according to Match Director Cody Ray. The match has been sold out for over two and a half months with 210 shooters set to compete at the range in Greenville, outside of Dallas. What draws these shooters to fill this match so quickly? According to Ray, "Folks will experience Texas-like temps of 99 degrees, the best SOs and staff in the business, Mike Cooper's finger-licking barbecue, and the finest match in Texas - and that really means in the world!

Cody Ray, the company owner, is installing a system with excellent coverage - which is important since we're putting in plants at this McKinney home tomorrow in 100 degree weather.
