Cllr Peter Stevens, St Edmundsbury Borough Council Cabinet member for car parking said, "We are exceptionally pleased that this year our newly prepared 1000 car site at CLAAS, Saxham will provide our best ever temporary park and ride. It allows visitors direct access off the A14, and a frequent and flexible bus service delivers them straight to the Fayre in the busy town centre".
The Christmas Fayre, this year being held on Friday 29 Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December, attracts around 100,000 visitors from all over the country. The park and ride is part of a robust traffic management plan to make sure everyone enjoys their visit to the full.
Cllr Stevens explains, "Part of the attraction is giving over Bury's historic core to pedestrians.

Cllr Peter Stevens, St Edmundsbury Borough Council Cabinet member for Environment explains, "Businesses have to pay contractors to collect and dispose of their waste, so maximising recycling and minimising what is sent to landfill makes hard economic sense to them and to us. We can identify the optimum waste streams for each customer and our 'Job Done' promise tells them they can trust us to do the right thing with their rubbish."

Cllr Peter Stevens, St Edmundsbury Borough Council Cabinet member for Environment said "Dog fouling is the most offensive form of littering and we are wholeheartedly supporting the Big Scoop campaign in St Edmundsbury. We want dog owners to bag their dog's mess and dispose of it in a bin."
Commenting on the problem of bagged poo being dropped on the ground, Cllr Stevens adds, "Dog owners can put their filled bags into any street litter bin in the borough - not just the red dog bins provided in popular dog walking areas. They only have to carry the bag as far as the nearest bin."
Recognising that the dog fouling is a problem is caused by the poor behaviour of a minority of dog owners, St Edmundsbury is trialling a hot spot deterrent. Temporary street stencils with a 'clean it up' message are being sprayed where fouling persists despite warning signs, police patrols and availability of dog bins. Cllr Stevens said:
