Clifton Taulbert was born on the Mississippi Delta during the era of legal segregation where he completed his secondary education. Though opportunities were few and barriers were plentiful, Taulbert managed to dream of being successful, not knowing the shape that success would take. Today Taulbert is the President and CEO of the Freemount Corporation (a human capital development company) serving clients nationally and internationally-Fortune 500 Companies, small businesses, federal agencies, professional organizations, community colleges and K-12 leadership. Additionally, entrepreneur Taulbert is the President and CEO of Roots Java Coffee-an African-American owned national coffee brand, importing coffee from Africa. To pass his life lessons along, Taulbert shares his entrepreneurial journey with others as a mentor.

Chosen by CNN at the turn of the millennium to represent one of the many voices of community, Clifton Taulbert was born and attended school in the Mississippi Delta during the era of legal segregation. After high school and completing a four-year assignment in the United States Air Force in the 89th Presidential Wing, Taulbert completed his undergraduate work in Sociology and History at Oral Roberts University and continued his education in banking with a professional degree from the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
According to Taulbert, who has served as a guest professor at Harvard University, the United States Air Force Academy and FEI-Federal Executive Institute, he could have failed had it not been for the community of unselfish adults who surrounded his life-his Porch People, better known today as mentors.
Taulbert and his team has delivered training internationally, from NATO in Brussels to many of the continental congresses in Central America, community colleges nationally as well as Lockheed Martin, Bank of America, the United States Department of Defense and K-12 school systems around the world. Over the years, Taulbert has become a much sought after key-note speaker.
His awards have included literary recognition from the Library of Congress, the Jewish Humanitarian Award of the Year and the NAACP award for contribution to literature. Taulbert has been inducted in the United States Air Force Enlisted Heritage Hall and SMEI-Sales and Marketing Executives International. Taulbert serves on the Board of the Tulsa Area Salvation Army, the Advisory Board of the Eudora Welty Foundation, the Tulsa Historical Society and the Board of Trustees for the University of Tulsa.

African-American author and business leader Mr Clifton Taulbert is the guest of the CSU Faculty of Business. His Dubbo visit is part of a brief tour to highlight the current Australian Indigenous leadership and entrepreneurship research being conducted by CSU. Dr Michelle Evans, senior lecturer in leadership at the CSU School for Management and Marketing, said, "The University aims to advance the development of Australian Indigenous leadership and entrepreneurship, and Mr Taulbert has extensive US experience to share with his audience in Dubbo.

Mr Clifton Taulbert is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated African-American author and is president and CEO of the Building Community Institute.
