Clifford Hobbs was born in Barbados and emigrated to the U.S. during the 1960's.He studied under painter Hector Whistler and George Beverly Hale.He attended the Art Student League of New York and studied under Email Schultz, illustrator.He also attended the National Academy of Fine Arts.His work has been exhibited throughout the U.S., including Hunter and John Jay Colleges, New York City; Brooklyn Museum; Hudson Art Gallery, the Barbados Consulate-NY and the National African American Museum.Many of his works are in private and corporate collections and his art has received over a dozen awards and prizes.Mr. Hobbs is a member of the Brooklyn Watercolor Society and a founding member of Association of Caribbean-American Artists.
