SAN DIEGO, CA ... MAXWELL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (NMS-MXWL) announced today that Claude Barathon
has joined the Company as president of its growing European operations.As president of Maxwell Europe, Mr. Barathon
will be responsible for expanding the Company's presence in Europe.Mr. Barathon
has more than 25 years of sales and operations management experience in Europe.Mr. Barathon
joins Maxwell from Quantum Corporation where he was executive vice president of worldwide sales, and prior to that was vice president of European operations.In previous positions with Control Data Corporation, he
was general manager for French operations, head of CDC's international OEM business, and vice president of OEM sales and marketing for Europe.Mr. Barathon
has degrees in electrical engineering, an MBA from the University of Lyon, and is a Harvard P.M.D. alumni.
