Clare Yates, a longtime member of the Center Square Neighborhood Association and a member of Historic Albany Foundation's board of directors, said a sports arena/concert hall is not an appropriate use of the armory. The biggest problem, she said, is there is no parking on site, which would further disrupt a neighborhood that already experiences a perpetual parking crunch caused by state workers and patrons of Lark Street's bars and restaurants. "It's very discouraging," Yates said.
