Stride for Health | Hallmark Health
Cindy Campbell, a Melrose native and the SmartRoutes traffic reporter for WCVB-TV's "Eyeopener" morning newscast, will be the Honorary Chairperson for Hallmark Health's 3rd Annual Stride for Health Walk on Sunday, June 6th at 5:00 PM at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield.
Campbell, who has a strong commitment to the community, supports the lifesaving effect this year's Walk will have on countless lives. Proceeds from the Stride for Health will provide CPR training and choke-saving skills to 10th and 11th grade students in Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham and Wakefield. When the students have completed their school-based training, they will pledge to train at least three family members using the kit provided to them. Statistics have shown that communities with bystanders trained in CPR and choke-saving skills have a dramatic impact on saving live. Campbell has been the traffic reporter since 1995. She was also the Director of Operations at SmartRoute systems and managed the 511 traveler information system. Previously she worked as an award-winning anchor, reporter and video producer in the cable industry for ten years. Campbell says she's excited about walking the 3-mile loop around Lake Quannapowitt and hopes there is lots of "foot" traffic that evening in support of Stride for Health.
