Christopher D. Seamone,
is a native of Kentville, Nova Scotia.
He attended Acadia University where he completed his B.Sc. in Biology in 1976.
He received his Doctor of Medicine from Dalhousie University in 1981.
After a few years in General Practice, he
became a resident in Ophthalmology at Dalhousie University
He completed his residency in 1989 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada the same year.
went on to complete two years of fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease and Uveitis, one year being at McGill University
in Montreal from 1989-90 and the second at the Proctor Foundation
, University of California at San Francisco
He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1991.
Since 1991, Dr. Seamone
has been in private ophthalmologic practice in Halifax and associated with the Dalhousie University
School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor.
is active in resident teaching and also in cataract surgery and corneal transplantation.
Additionally, Dr. Seamone is Medical Director of the New Brunswick Eye Bank in Saint John, N.B. and Co-director of the Eye Bank Division of the Regional Tissue Bank of the QEII Health Sciences Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Dr. Seamone was certified in laser vision correction in 1995.
Currently, he is the Medical Director for Nova Vision Centre Incorporated and is responsible for laser vision procedures, pre and post-operative laser protocols as well as surgeon education and training.
