Honda, Ph.D.Dr. Honda is a Professor in the Neuroscience Department at the University of Minnesota.He earned his doctorate in Neurobiology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill under the direction of E.R. Perl.Prior to joining the faculty at Minnesota in 1989, he received postdoctoral training in the laboratories of W.D. Willis at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston and E.G. Jones at the University of California, Irvine.Dr. Honda has been active in pain research for over twenty years, and he has published extensively on functional, neurochemical, and morphological mechanisms contributing to pain at peripheral, spinal, and thalamic levels.His current research interests are centered on the regulation of peripheral opioid analgesic systems, and during the last several years he has devoted much of his time to collaborations and consultations with industry.
