About Christopher Clyne
Dr. Christopher Clyne came to Hartford Hospital in 2001 to start the Interventional electrophysiology program at Hartford Hospital. He is credited with performing the first atrial fibrillation ablation, the first laser lead extraction, and the first cardiac resynchronization therapy device implantation in the state of Connecticut.
He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut Medical School. His clinical and research interests include complex ablations of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, and advanced treatment strategy for congestive heart failure and other forms of cardiomyopathy using cardiac rhythm management devices. He is involved in a number of multicenter, multinational research studies including the NIH-sponsored CABANA study and the groundbreaking MADIT-CRT study, and serves on a number of national committees responsible for the development of evidence based approaches to delivering patient centered state of the art Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a representative of the Health policy and Education Committees for the Heart rhythm Society since 2010. Dr. Clyne was listed in 2011 as a US News & World Report "Best Doctors in America".

He left to become the Director of Electrophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania before coming to Connecticut.He came to Hartford Hospital after being in New Haven from 1994-2000.
He is a co-author of many peer reviewed articles and has authored multiple book chapters in Cardiology and Electrophysiology.Most recently, he was asked to author the Cardiology Review Section for the M.S.L.E. Board Review Course Part II.
