Christine Habersaat '11
Christine Habersaat Christine Habersaat '11 also knows what it means to be inspired. After her sophomore year, Habersaat participated in a summer externship with Meredith Cowperthwait '97, a pediatric nurse practitioner. It was during the experience that Habersaat seriously considered a career in medicine. "The staff at the CCD are so easy to talk to and are invested in helping students network and find career opportunities," noted Habersaat, so she looked to take advantage of the other opportunities the CCD could provide. After her enlightening externship, Habersaat immediately jumped at the chance to participate in one of the CCD's Career Immersion Trips in Philadelphia, with a focus on health sciences. "Not only did the immersion trip give me the opportunity to meet professional alumni and learn about their respective careers, but it made me realize that I was on the right path for a career in pediatrics," said Habersaat. In addition, Habersaat attended a networking event in the fall to connect with alumni who are healthcare professionals and learn more about the field. Habersaat starts at The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in September, where she hopes to become a nurse practitioner and specialize in pediatrics.
