Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Club is pleased to announce that it has hired Marcel Dupuis and Christie Abbott to head up the club's operations for its inaugural season.With the assistance of Christie Abbott, Marcel will supervise the club's day to day operations, including ticket sales, sponsorships, special events including, company barbeques, facility operations, bookings and concessions.Christie Abbott joins the Dawgs as Manager of Communications and Media Relations.Christie hails from Albany, New York and is currently a junior with a major in Communications at Niagara University located in Lewiston, NY. . Christie has an excellent resume including experience as a student intern at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY, the home of the Tri-City Valley Cats (a Single A affiliate of the Houston Astros).During the 2005/2006 college season, Christie also served as Communications Manager with the Niagara Purple Eagles baseball club which plays in the NCAA, Division 1, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.Managing Partner Ircandia had this to say regarding the hiring of Christie: "Seaman Stadium will have an interactive scoreboard as well as a first rate public address and sound system.With Christie's experience in the minor league and college ranks, she will not only be able to assist Marcel in day to day operations, but also to supervise our press box and fan interaction.Christie and Marcel will inject a ton of enthusiasm into the Dawgs' operation and we are thrilled to have her on board." With Christie we now add someone with the background and enthusiasm to take charge of our game day presentation.

Christie Abbott Back with the Dawgs in 2008Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Club are very pleased to announce that Christie Abbott will be returning to Seaman Stadium for a second summer as Manager of Communications and Media Relations.Christie's responsibilities will include managing the pressbox operation, acting as media liaison, coordinating special promotions and events as well as assisting VP of Operations Pablo Forno in the day to day stadium operation.Christie will graduate from Niagara University with a Bachelor of Communications degree this spring after spending the fall semester studying abroad.In addition to last summer with the Dawgs, Christie spent two summers as a student intern at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY, home of the Tri-City Valley Cats (single A affiliate of the Houston Astros) and acted as Communications Manager for the Niagara Purple Eagles baseball club in 2005/2006."Having been through the growing pains of our incredible inaugural season, Christie has an excellent understanding of what the Dawgs Game Day experience is all about, and she will play an important role in making that experience bigger and better in 2008."
