Christa Patton
Christa Patton, historical harpist and early wind specialist, has performed throughout the Americas, Europe, and Japan with many of today's premier early music ensembles including Piffaro the Renaissance Band, Early Music New York, The King's Noyse, Folger Consort, Newberry Consort, Apollo's Fire, The Toronto Consort, Parthenia, ARTEK, Pegasus, New York State Baroque Orchestra, and many others. As a baroque harpist specializing in 17th century opera, Christa has performed in many early opera productions including New York City Opera and Wolf Trap Opera. She can be heard playing baroque harp and a multitude of other instruments on recordings such as "Istampitta" [Lyrachord] "Chacona" and "Trionfo d'Amore e della Morte" [Dorian] and Nobile Donna on ATMA among others. Christa is on the faculty of Rutgers University and the Graduate Center at CUNY.

Christa Patton (harp) has performed medieval and Renaissance music throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan with Early Music New York, Piffaro and Ex Umbris. As a baroque harpist, Christa has performed with Tafelmusik, Toronto Consort, Early Music New York, ARTEK, Seattle Baroque Orchestra, San Francisco Bach Choir, Wolf Trap Opera Company and the New York City Opera. As a clinician Christa has been the harp instructor at the Madison Early Music Festival since 2001. A Fulbright scholar in 1999, she studied historical harp techniques in Milan with harpist Mara Galassi. Christa has recorded for the Lyrichord, Helicon and Dorian labels.

Christa Patton** Christa Patton is an early harp specialist with a particular focus on the repertoire of the early 17th century. Her individual vocabulary of style in this genre emerged from her years of study in Northern Italy where the essence of this music speaks through its native environs. In addition, Christa has appeared as a guest with Apollo's Fire, The King's Noyse, Blue Heron, Seattle Baroque Orchestra, La Nef, The Folger Consort and ARTEK. As a specialist in early 17th century repertoire, Christa has directed vocal style and led the continuo in productions of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo at Stony Brook University, Queens College, and Yale University's Baroque Opera Program (YBOP). She is also a faculty member of the New York Continuo Collective. As a clinician Christa has held workshops for the, Madison Early Music Festival, Pinewoods Early Music week, the Historical Harp Society and the Medieval Institute at Longy School of Music. As a lecturer she has covered topics ranging from ornamentation in the Faenza Codex to Spanish accompaniment in the 17th century. As a multi-instrumentalist Christa has toured the Americas, Europe and Japan with Piffaro the Renaissance Band, Early Music New York, and Ex Umbris. Her recordings include "Istampitta" on the Lyrachord label, "Chacona" also on the Dorian label, "Trionfo d'Amore e della Morte" on the Dorian label, and the newest release entitled "Waytes."
