Chris McCabe
Executive Director Chris McCabe has served as Executive Director of NWPPA since October of 2011. Chris previously served as Government Affairs Director for the Association of Washington Business (AWB) focusing on environmental and energy issues. Prior to his work with AWB, Chris practiced law in Olympia for seven years representing individuals and small businesses on a variety of environmental and other legal issues. Between 1991 and 1996, he served as legislative assistant for U.S. Chris holds a B.A. degree in political science from Washington State University and a law degree, cum laude, from Michigan State University. A Washington native, Chris lives in Olympia with his wife and son, where he is a little league baseball coach, an assistant basketball coach, and is active in his son's Cub Scout pack and the PTO. Chris and his wife Jocelyn are active supporters of the Olympia Hands On Children's Museum and other local charities. Chris enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, cycling, camping, hiking and golf.

"If wind power is less expensive in Montana, then utilities should be able to buy it there," said Chris McCabe, AWB's government affairs director for energy policy.
"We think this patchwork system needs to be dealt with at the federal level with uniform portfolio standards for all states, and Washington state needs to be recognized for its existing assets, including hydro," McCabe said. "We need to do something soon because of the 2016 deadline," McCabe said.
