Chris Kao is an Associate Principal in the firms Global Life Sciences Practice and is based in our Shanghai office. He has worked in the Asia Pacific region since 2000 and has successfully completed country, regional and global assignments for a wide variety of clients in the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, devices and biotechnology space. He has also executed searches in specialized functions, including medical, regulatory affairs and quality.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Chris was research manager with The Economist Group, addressing major business and political issues affecting multinational clients in both China and the Asia Pacific region. Chris attended the University of Virginia, from which he graduated with degrees in Economics, Religious Studies and Asian Studies. He also participated in study abroad programs at Fudan University in Shanghai and Ocean University of China in Qingdao. Chris speaks English, Mandarin Chinese and German.
