Vice President, Test Engineering Group
Chris Gates is SENTEL's Vice President for the Test Engineering Group, which represents an estimated 45 percent of total company revenues.
The technical focus of the group spans test and evaluation (joint, developmental, and independent), systems acquisition, comparative test support, electronic warfare system reprogramming, and classified networks.
The various divisions in this group support customers at nine locations.
A graduate of the U.S.
, Mr. Gates
held operational positions of increasing responsibility as a carrier aviator, culminating as a Commanding Officer of a carrier-based light attack squadron.
Mr. Gates earned an M.S. in Systems Acquisition Management from the Naval Post Graduate School then served as Director of Flight Operations for a Naval Plant Representative's Office charged with monitoring and accepting aircraft at a manufacturer's plant.
Later in his Naval career, Mr. Gates was assigned to the Naval Air Systems Command in Washington, D.C., as the Deputy Director for the Product Integrity Division.
was then selected as the Division Director of the Air Warfare Analysis Division.
Mr. Gates continues his role as Program Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) Office of Safety Support and Independent Assessment (SSIA) contract, a program he has led and expanded since 1994.
Mr. Gates is Co-chair of SENTEL's Ethics and Compliance Committee and also serves as a liaison for SENTEL employees on all ethics matters.
