In February l971 , Chip Rachlin and a few friends produced the Beach Boys at Carnegie Hall in what would become their comeback concert.It was a night that changed his life.At that time , Rachlin was working for legendary concert promoter Bill Graham at Fillmore East , a small talent agency that Graham owned.
In l973 , following the closing of Fillmore East , Rachlin was hired to be an agent at ICM.He worked with another extraordinary team of agents , and they soon made ICM the top music firm in the country.Among the clients that Rachlin represented were : America , The Beach Boys , Billy Joel , Eric Clapton , Aerosmith , James Taylor , Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles.
Rachlin was hired to be tour coordinator and function as one of Graham's lieutenants for the Stones' first worldwide stadium tour.
From the Rolling Stones tours , Rachlin was hired to be director of acquisitions for MTV for a three-year stint that saw Music Television brand the world.Rachlin was directly involved in the programming of the channel and the first two MTV Video Awards Shows as well as being part of the team that created VH-1.
The creation of Split Screen/Screen Link took place in 1985 , one of the first companies created to leverage the growing video music scene and the marketing of corporate America.Rachlin and his associates negotiated one of the first major sponsorship deals between Michelob and Genesis/Phil Collins.
It was during this period that Rachlin started a consulting company that has evolved into Rachlin Entertainment , with clients including Mobil Oil , Century 21 Real Estate , NHK , MediaAmerica , Messiah XXI Productions , Woodstock Ventures , The Gerry Foundation , Six Flags Theme Parks , Rich's Lazarus and Goldsmith's Iliad.
