Dr. China M. Ashe, founder and pastor of Hope Ministries of Christ Worship Center received a call from God in 1988 to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
At the time, she was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD under the pastorate of Dr. Harold A. Carter, Sr. Dr. Ashe united with Christ in 1984 under the same ministry. Prior to receiving her calling, she had been a successful businesswoman who owned and operated two beauty salons with 28 employees in Baltimore, MD. But in 1991, being instructed by God, Dr. Ashe entered the ministry fulltime. She gave up everything she owned and moved to Tulsa, OK to attend Rhema Bible Training Institute under Kenneth Hagin Ministry. After completing Rhema, Dr. Ashe resumed her formal education and completed her undergraduate studies at Morgan State University with a dual degree; B. S. in psychology and a B. A. in religious studies. She also obtained a Tri Masters with a M. A. degree in Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary, a M. Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Coppin State College, and a M. Div. from Howard University. She earned her Doctorate from Howard University School of Divinity in 2001. Since giving up her business, Dr. Ashe has learned to abound and abase by Faith being content in whatever state God has placed her. She has worked at several odd jobs: a missionary in Japan, a counter girl at McDonalds, a hairstylist, a cosmetologist teacher, a substitute teacher, a 3rd grade teacher, a counselor for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children, and an addiction counselor. She is also licensed and certified in several areas of helping relationships. Dr. Ashe also founded “Warriors of Fire,†a youth camp and Hope Radio Ministry. Dr. Harold Carter, Sr. ordained Reverend Ashe with Reverend A. C. D. Vaughn serving as moderator in May 2001. After her ordination, Dr. Ashe worked in the secular market as a mental health therapist and addiction counselor. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own counseling agency with two locations, one in Laurel, MD and the other in Randallstown, MD. In addition Dr. Ashe started a counseling institute nationwide that train other professional counselors and therapist. Dr. Ashe also served for three years at Life of Faith Ministries, under the pastorate of Rev. Rebecca Eddins, another “daughter†of the New Shiloh Church Ministry. In November 2005, while attending the Washington, DC Kenneth Copeland Conference, the Holy Spirit spoke to Dr. Ashe to establish Hope Ministries of Christ Worship Center. Not fully heeding the initial call, with more urgency the Holy Spirit spoke a second time in January 2006 to Reverend Ashe, while she was attending Kenneth Copeland Ministers’ Conference in Forth Worth, TX.

I want to help others who have cancer to receive their healing like my grand-mother did so I went to my pastor, Rev. Dr. China M Ashe and I asked her to help me make a difference in the lives of those with cancer.
She showed me how to pray and believe in God for the healing of the sick.
