The following description is based upon a paper that Chava wrote describing her work with Child'Space.
Chava Shelhav has had 40 years of experience, working with clients of all ages using the Feldenkrais Method®. She was Moshe Feldenkrais's Personal Assistant for 21 years, traveling and working with him. In these years of experience, she came to understand that the roots of many problems experienced by adults can be traced to early childhood or even infancy. Thus Child'Space - the Chava Shelhav Method was born.
Meeting with many babies and mothers, Chava observed signs of problematic development (significant, yet sub clinical issues) in numerous infants whose development was considered normal. Early intervention made it easier to address those developmental related issues. The benefits to the infant were often immediately visible and richer social interaction was rewarding for the parents. There is no child too young to benefit from the positive effects of touch and communication.
Chava believes that parents should be more actively involved in their child's development.
