"We're hoping to have a good turnout for both events, as they comprise our local fundraising efforts," said Charlotte Mealor of the Jackson County Historic Courthouse Committee.

"We think it looks fabulous," said Charlotte Mealor, chairwoman of the Jackson County Historic Courthouse Restoration Committee.
The cost estimates for the interior restoration vary, and how detailed the final restoration is will depend on the amount of money on hand, Mealor said.

"A significant portion of the delays have been weather-related - rainy days, cold days," said Charlotte Mealor, chairman of the Historic Jackson County Courthouse Committee.
"We're moving forward with some caution and looking at what the options are," Mealor said.

Mealor and other members of the Jackson County Historical Society had no idea what they were getting into when they found that first box of documents in an old holding cell at the back of the second-floor courtroom after judges moved into a new courthouse in 2004, Mealor said. "After that, we found untold places where these documents were stored," she said.
