Worrall Courses:Algebra IIAdvanced Placement Calculus ABPrecalculusFor the past five years, Charles was a middle and high school teacher of mathematics at Horace Mann, a large private school in Riverdale, N.Y.When he moved to New York he was a year out of college, single and excited about experiencing the big city.Along the way, Charles was happy to find that teaching was his calling.Being in the classroom, relating with students, and thinking and reading about math and its history have become important parts of his life.He has enjoyed giving professional talks and writing articles on fascinating topics just past the horizon of traditional Euclidean geometry. In the summer of 1998, Charles met his wife, Cortney, on a long-distance bicycle tour in Alabama and Georgia. They were married in January 2000, and their first child, Clara, was born in December 2000.With all the changes, they are excited to be starting over in a close-knit rural school community. They're both especially anticipating mountain biking on St. Andrew''''''''''''''''s trails and road biking through the Delaware countryside. Charles graduated from Williams College in 1995 with a double major in math and English. During a year off in 1992-93, Charles sang in a rock band in his home state of Indiana, trying to attract the attention of a record label.Since then he has sung in many bands and at times accompanied himself on guitar.
