Woodbridge, professor at Fuller Seminary for seven years before resigning because of New Evangelicalism, whose counsel was often sought by Dr. Billy Graham, warned the evangelist in these words: "If you persist in making common cause with those who deny the Word of God, and thus in minimizing the sharp line of distinction between those who are loyal and disloyal to the Scriptures, it is my strong opinion that the verdict of church history will be that you will be known as the greatest divider of the church of Christ in the twentieth century.
