Charlie has more than thirty-five years of experience overseeing major advertising and branding initiatives. Charlie was Executive Vice President at Siegel & Gale, a New York-based international brand strategy-consulting firm. He was one of twelve senior managers who helped buy ownership back from parent Saatchi & Saatchi in 1998. During his ten-plus years at the firm Charlie played a number of roles, from directing worldwide business development, to initiating, building and overseeing all the firm's practice in Latin America to winning marquee engagements in Europe and the Far East.
Charlie managed a wide variety corporate brand strategy engagements for a wide variety of clients, including Vodafone (UK), Telco (Venezuela), Cemex (Mexico), EDS, Unisys, UBS, Correo Argentino (Argentina), Bank One, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, 3M, Credit Suisse, Banco Nacional (Brazil), Royal Bank of Scotland, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, ING Americas, Siemens (Germany), Price Waterhouse Coopers, and TV Azteca (Mexico).
During his more than a dozen years in the advertising industry, Charlie held various management positions at Ogilvy, DDB, Grey Advertising and NW Ayer, serving clients such as Bristol-Myers, American Express, Sears, AT&T, SC Johnson, Polaroid, and GTE. During these years, he was associated with some of Madison Avenue's most iconic campaigns, including AT&T Long Lines Division's campaign "Reach out and touch someone" (Ayer), voted by Advertising Age as one of the top ten most memorable campaigns of all time; James Garner-Mariette Hartley campaign introducing Polaroid's One-Step camera, which, at the time, became the largest selling camera in US history (DDB); and the American Express Travelers Checks campaign "Don't leave home without them," featuring actor Karl Malden (Ogilvy).
From 1970 to 1973, Charlie was a member of The White House staff, serving as Staff Assistant, Office of the Director of Communications, Office of Public Liaison, and as Public Information Officer, the White House Office on Drugs.
