Charles A. Patterson, Executive Director
Charles Patterson has been SID's Executive Director since 1994.
From 1973 to 1988, Mr. Patterson was executive director of Planning Assistance, an organization that sought to improve the planning and management of international development programs.
was responsible for designing and implementing the collaborative planning and management of regional development projects as well as sectoral programs carried out by a number of organizations.
was also responsible for the design and implementation of several programs to increase the contribution of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to the development of their countries.
From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Patterson was Planning Assistance's country director for Bolivia, where he directed a program of technical assistance to NGOs as well as a program to increase citizen participation in the decision-making of their local governments.

Thereafter, he established a national training department and program for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
