The award will be presented at the Foundation's gala, Heartworks St. Louis, on March 5.
Dr. Huddleston is a recognized leader in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplantation, and congenital heart disease. Many people in the Marfan syndrome and related disorders community rely on him for his surgical expertise when they require surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm or a leaking mitral valve, or perform corrective surgery for a chest wall deformity.

ST. LOUIS - SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center is pleased to welcome heart surgeon Charles Huddleston, MD, to the cardiothoracic surgery team at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
Huddleston is highly respected throughout the St. Louis region. He is recognized as an expert in pediatric heart surgery, transplantation and congenital heart disease. Huddleston has been recognized as one of the "Best Doctors in America" for several years. Huddleston comes to SSM Cardinal Glennon from St. Louis Children's Hospital, where he spent two decades of his career.
Huddleston joins fellow "Best Doctors" cardiothoracic surgeon Andrew Fiore, MD, at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
Dr. Huddleston is also a professor at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

Charles B. Huddleston, MD, Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery Dr. Huddleston is the director of pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He was born in Sedalia, Missouri, and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1978. He was a resident and fellow in surgery at Vanderbilt University Hospital, where he also was a research fellow and chief resident in surgery. He was a senior registrar at The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London, U.K. He is a captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve, and served in Bahrain during Operation Desert Storm. Dr. Huddleston is an associate professor of surgery at Washington University School of Medicine, and he is a member of numerous societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons.
