Charles L. Guatney is professor emeritus, administrative management and business education, Central Washington University, Ellensburg, Washington. During the Korean War he served as an infantryman in the 11th Airborne Division. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas, and a master of arts degree from Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He is a conservative with a strong interest in the relationship of politics and education, interests transferred to his teaching experience from the junior high school to the university, and supervision at the county and state levels. He and his wife tend to be in the minority of political and educational issues but in the majority concerning the beautiful mountains of North Georgia, the site of their retirement home.
