MD at Home was founded by Dr. Charles S. DeHaan MD in 1993, which was the first official full time physician house call program in the Midwest. His Father and Grandfather both provided housecalls to their patients, making this the third generation of housecall service to the region. Dr. DeHaan has been in Chicago and the surrounding areas all his life. He is a clinical instructor for the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

According to the Guedels, DeHaan was working for Northern Illinois Hospice at the time of Jeremy's death.The hospice care allows terminally ill patients to live out their final days at home.
Jeremy and his twin, Jordyn, were born July 12, 1999, several weeks premature at Rockford Memorial Hospital.Today, Jordyn is fine, the Guedels said.
The couple, who have six other children, believe that medical conditions undiagnosed since birth may have contributed to Jeremy's death.
