Charlie Darsch has spent over 50 years in the security industry, having founded an alarm installing company in the Cape Cod area after graduating from UMass in the mid-50's. He sold the company in 1972 and joined Aerospace Research, a Boston -based company that was developing highly sophisticated intrusion detection sensors, as National Sales Manager. As the company grew, purchased other companies, was acquired (by Aritech Corp and later, Sentrol) he was promoted to vice president in 1989. He joined System Sensor in 2001 and mentors the sales teams at both System Sensor and Honeywell Analytics, opening doors through his vast array of fire and security contacts. Charlie was president of SIA in the mid-80's and currently sits as a non-voting board member. He was SIA representative to the ESA board of directors. He is also an ex-officio for the Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF) and presently sits on the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) board of directors. Formerly, he sat as a board member of CSAA, was convention chairman of SIA and was an executive committee member of NBFAA ( now ESA).

The Security Industry Association (SIA), the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) together are pleased to announce that the 2006 Triton Award recipient is Charles G. Darsch of Honeywell Fire Systems.The security industry veteran is being recognized for his dedication and contributions to the work of the associations and to the security industry at large.
The Triton Award will be presented to Darsch at "Razamataz and All That Jazz" - the 2006 Tri-association Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Cipriani's 23rd Street in New York City.
Darsch currently serves as a non-voting vice president for SIA and serves as SIA's industry liaison to AIREF.He also represents SIA to the NBFAA board of directors at the will of the SIA president.Darsch also serves on the NBFAA board of directors as the ex officio AIREF representative.He was chairman of the industry foundation for more than 15 years and continues to serve on the AIREF board.Darsch is an active member of ASIS and NFPA and is a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

FRISCO, Texas (February 11, 2008) - The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) announced today that the Security Industry Association (SIA) has appointed Charlie Darsch and Jay Hauhn as representatives to the SIAC Board of Directors.
Darsch and Hauhn will be replacing Rich Ader and Larry Dischert as the SIA representatives to SIAC.
"We are very excited to have Charlie and Jay join the SIAC Board of Directors," stated Stan Martin, SIAC Executive Director.
As the Director of Corporate Relations for System Sensor, Charlie Darsch entered the security industry in the 1950's after losing a friend to an intruder. Putting his electrical engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts to good use, Darsch founded Minuteman Security, an alarm installing company. In 1972, he sold Minuteman Security and joined Aerospace Research as their Northeast Sales Manager. Aerospace Research was later purchased by Aritech Corporation, then Sentrol, and by 1989, Darsch was promoted to vice president.
"When I was approached about joining the SIAC Board of Directors, I was proud to accept the appointment," said Darsch.
