Charles Edwin "Charlie" Booz CLYDE , Charles Edwin "Charlie" Booz, 83 of Clyde, died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at a local hospital. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Elmwood Memorial Chapel with Quenten Rhodes officiating under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Mr. Booz was born July 27, 1922 in Perrin, Texas to Thomas and Cora (Long) Booz.Charlie graduated from Perrin High School in 1940, receiving a basketball scholarship from Weatherford College where he was captain of the team in 1941 and 1942 Mr. Booz received both his Bachelor of Arts Degree and his Master's Degree from Texas Tech. Over the years he taught at Benjamin, Shallowwater and Whiteface.Charlie worked for Encyclopedia Britannica, calling on educational institutions all over West Texas.With the help of his wife Opal, he won three national awards for being top salesman of the year in the United States.He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII.He was a Methodist. Mom, you will be greatly missed by your loving husband, Willie Crawford; sister, Amelia Govan; sons, Charles and wife Hattie, Roston, Huey and wife Glenda, Bobby and wife Artis, Glynn and wife Susan; daughter, Ruby Faye and husband Ollie; step-children, Loretta, Hamilton and Willie; a host of grand- children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
